We started to look at some digipaks of some music albums. We took some pictures of the album from Rihanna's Loud front cover, back cover, side, inside the cd and also the cd itself. We will be annotating the digipak, within some of the elements we would need to answer in our booklet. I will be using infogram to do my case studies analysis.

We finished the full editing of the final music video. We will start to look at some case studies for our CD cover.

7. Editing

In this lesson we carried on editing certain parts of the music video. We didn't have  lot of changes in this lesson. For our next lesson we'll just go through the whole music video and sort out parts we want to change.

7.Editing

Today's lesson we carried on editing the shoots after getting our feedback yesterday. We cut some parts of the shoot from the course which made a blank shoot for a very quick second then went back into the shoot of the artist. We decided to use because we got told the artist moves his eyes a lot which makes it look unprofessional. Using this also added some different effects which made the video look different. We will be carrying on editing which we are hoping to get the whole editing done by Friday.

7. Editing: rough cut screening feedback

We couldn't export the whole rough cut music video, so we just exported the shoot which was one of the parts where they complained about his expressions in the feedback we got. They said that it was too long and it had no emotions so it did not cause emphasis on his dilemma. We got suggested to add other shoots in the chores to make  it look much more professional.

7. Editing: feedback

For this lesson we got feedback from our classmates on what we have done so far with our music video. The feedback we got was that the artist showed no emotion whilst we was shooting the course, they suggested that we use other shoots of the artist on the course part because they thought the lip syncing part was too long. We started to edit and add some shoots on the music video.

7. Editing day eleven

For our lesson we finished the whole editing. We will be showing our this as our finished project to our classmates on Monday's lesson. We done a colour change to the background in one shoot as the background was green so we made it black to match the other shoots.

7. Editing day ten

For this lesson we started to edit the shoots we took yesterday in the TV Studio. We stuggles with deleting the previous shoots and adding the new ones, this was because when we we kept deleting the old shoots the rest of the shoots were moving so the shoots weren't in place. We had to start from the beginning and add the shoots properly. Zahra and myself are hoping to finish the whole music video on the 20th November 2015. We have booked an editing time after 4:20 on the 20th which we are hoping to get it finished by then.

Re-shooting

Today we went back into the TV studio to re-shoot our scenes 2, 4 and 7. We got clear lip syncing and also a very clear camera shoot, this is because we left the camera in one position and the focus was kept on focus so there was no blur to our videos we shoot. We used the lighting on one side of his face to make a dynamic effect on the artist. The camera we used was the DSLR Cannon camera with the tripod to keep the camera steady whilst shooting. For our next editing lesson we will replace the old videos to the videos we have shoot today. This is some of the videos we took to blog as the setting we used.

7. Editing day nine

For this lesson we decided what exactly we will be doing for tomorrow, which we have booked shooting on Wednesday 18th November 2015 at 2:30pm. We will be shooting the whole studio scenes which is scenes 2,4 and 7.

7. Editing day eight

For this lesson we decided to re-shoot our studio scenes again due to the lip syncing was not recognizable and we also wanted to change what the artist was doing. This means that we are going to not use the storyboard for scenes 2, 4, and scene 7 fro the studio scene. We decided to keep the story simple by the artist looking through old pictures and deleting them. We are going to also have more lip syncing in the course. We will be shooting on Wednesday18th November 2015. After shooting we will carry on editing on Thursday and Friday.

7. Editing day seven

Due to some of problems I could not make it to the Wednesday's booked date. However, Zahra has filled me in with what she has done. She told me that our teacher told us to use more black and white effect to the parts when the artist is with the old girlfriend to show that he is thinking about the past. Today we got our teacher to watch our music video again and she told us to add a few more lip-syncing into the video as we hardly use some. So we added some more parts where the artist lip syncs. We also added some black and white to another part as it was a flash back.

This is a short video to what we have gotten up to so far. 

7. Editing day six

This lesson we went into editing the videos and adding a few more transitions. We have decided to use text at the beginning of the video which writes 'Bryson Tiller Been That Way' which is the artist name and song. We think that we would finish the whole editing of the music video for tomorrow. We have also booked extra editing day outside of lesson for Wednesday so we will finish the editing and get our teacher to watch it and give us a feedback so we could act upon it.

7. Editing day five

Our aim for this lesson was to finish of the editing of the videos. We finished adding some effects such as brightening the videos as some of the videos were to dark. We then added some video transitions such as fade in and out, dissolve, we used these to make our video look professional. For our next lesson we will finish of editing the videos and hoping to finish our whole music video by the end of this week.

7. Editing day four

For this lesson we continued to edit the videos, we added slow motion effects to bring the video a much serious and depressed emotion. We decided to use slow motion when the main artist and the first female actor as the ex girlfriend are walking and enjoying themselves. This gave a much dramatic effect as the artist is still thinking about her and still wants her. For our next lesson we will carry on with editing the videos.

7. Editing day three

Our aim for this lesson was to finish slotting in the videos on the order we decided. We finished placing all the videos onto Final Cut Pro 7, we put some parts which wasn't meant to be there for example we added a shoot where the artist is facing the wall and his shadow shows at the end of the song, this wasn't orginally a part of the storyboard but we thought that we can have that faded of right at the end which will give a really professional effect. We started to effect some parts of the videos, the shot where the old girlfriend gives back the ring back to the artist after arguing we decided that we would have it black and white with a slow motion effect, this would give an emotional and serious effect to the song and how that part of the song is a big moment which really hurt the artist. For our next lesson we will finish off effecting the video.

7. Editing day two

For this lesson we set an aim to upload the song and start to place the videos. I started with downloading our chosen song 'Bryson Tiller Been That Way' and placed it onto Final Cut Pro 7. After placing the song I looked at the storyboard as a layout and started to add the shootings according to where they were on the song lyrics. For our nexf lesson we will finish off putting the shooting in order.

7. Editing day one

For this lesson we started to edit the music video. We struggled getting the videos onto Final Cut Pro 7, after we got some help from the teacher we put the shoots we took from before. After we got our videos onto Final Cut Pro 7 we went through the videos to check if they were shoot properly.

We started to place the videos where we wanted them to be in. For our next lesson we will download the song and put it on Final Cut Pro 7. We will also start to place the videos according to the song and using the storyboard we will know what shoot will go in the song.

6. Shooting: day two

Today we all meet up at Greenwich University, Gulsen, Rafa, Zahra and myself went to shoot our scene 1 which was the scene when the first female actor (Gulsen) is arguing with the artist (Rafa). I believe that we good really good shoots for our first scene. We also shoot at Greenwich for scene 5, when the main male artist and the first female actor is walking together having a good time. The weather was clear and there was no risks around us so shooting the video was very quick and easy.

We then traveled back to Walthamstow so we could finish off the whole shooting. We only had scenes 2 and 6 to finish off. When we got to Walthamstow we went to shoot in H.M Samules for our jewelry scene, we got two shoots which clearly shows where the scene is set and what the artist is doing. However, we had an issue with getting in the jewelry shop and shoot due to security conditions, the manger allowed us after letting her know that we were not going to shoot anything they did not want us to. After shooting at the jewelry shop we went to Costa cafe to shoot with our second female actor (Iqraa) and Rafa our scene 6. After we shoot at Costa we had finished our whole shooting off the music video. I believe that we stuck to the storyboard and kept it quick. We got the whole shooting done in two days. We couldn't stick with the call sheet due to the fact that we had issues with the main artist and also forgetting to pick up the cameras for our Sunday shooting in Greenwich, so we had to change the date for shooting in Greenwich to Wednesday. After two days off shooting we have successfully finished our whole shooting. Zahra and myself will start the editing when we get back to college.

6.Shooting: day one

Today we started to shoot parts and scenes of our music video. We finished scenes 2, 4 and 7, which included all the studio scenes. We also got a few other shoots we may use for parts of the video if we like them. We sorted out the setting, so we got a couch and placed it on one side of the studio which was used for our scene 2 the couch scene. We also placed the photos we printed out on the wall, this was used for scene 4, when the artist rips up the photos and throws them. Then we had the photos placed on the floor and the artist was sitting in the middle, this was used for the last scene which is scene 7. We used the lights to bring a scene mood of depressed and upset. I believe that this shooting day was really effective and we as a group got a lot done. For our next shooting we will be doing it outside, in Greenwich and Walthamstow for scenes 1,3, 5 and 6. We are hoping to get these shootings done by 28/10/2015. If we get all of our shootings done by that day we could get straight into the editing. We are hoping that our actors could make it to the shooting and get everything done on time

5.Team meeting

We updated everyone what time and when we will be shooting. We told Rafa our main artist that he needs to be at the studio on Monday so we could get our studio scenes done. As we forgot to pick up the camera on Friday we couldn't do the shooting on Sunday. So we have decided to finish the rest of the shooting on Wednesday.

Booking: studio

We have booked the studio on 26/10/2015. For this part of shooting we only need our main artist which is Rafa. We will be shooting scenes 2, 4, and 7.

5. Pre production: equipment sheet

We will be borrowing the DSLR camera and also the tripod till Wednesday. We will be shooting on Monday and Wednesday.

5. Team meeting- 15/10/2015

Today we gave in the call sheet and also the lyrics of the song to the main artist, we are hoping to get our shooting for our studio scenes on the 21/10/2015. Then we will be finishing the outside scenes when we get back from half term.

5.Pre-production: Actors

Actor 1: Gulsen, which is one of our female actors. She will be used as the first female actor that will be seen at the beginning scene and scene 5 at the street scene.  

Actor 2: Atikah: this is our second female actor. She is still unsure about being in this role. She will be used in scene 6 at the cafe whilst they are arguing. It has been confirmed that she will not be used for the video.

Actor 3: Rafa, which is our main male actor. He will be acting and lip syncing.  

Actor 4: We have a potential third female actor, Iqraa. If our second female actor Atikah doesn't attend we will be having her to play the role of the second female. She will be used in scene 6.

5.Pre- production: call sheet

Team Meeting: lesson Update: 06/10/2015

For this lesson we had to finish of the call sheet and finish the recces. We have uploaded our recces but will be needing to put up out call sheet and also release form. For our next lesson we need to upload the final pre-production information and start on our shooting.

5. Pre-Production costumes, props, make up etc

These are some costumes and props we will be using and make up we will be using in our music video. We have decided to have our actors in casual clothing which is suitable to the age which is around the age group of 16-26. We will be using the ring in the jewelry shop scene. The photos will be used in the hook part of the song.

We went to the H.Samuel Jewller to get permission to shoot in the shop on the 21/10/2015.

We got our media teacher to sign our location release to use the photography studio after we have booked it.

Team meeting: lesson update 05/10/2105

For today's lesson we started on our call sheet and we organised when we will be shooting. This helped up become much more clear to what we we will be doing on which dates. It also helped us knowing when exactly we will start to shoot. We have decided to do the studio scenes first, this is mainly become we could use the studio as it is in our college so we could get it done much quicker than the outside scenes. We will be using up around 2 days for the studio scenes, this is so we could just get everything in properly. The week after shooting in the studio we will be going out to Greenwich so shoot the rest of the scenes. On the second weeks Saturday we are also going to try get the crew to get back together to finish scene 3 in the jewellery shop. For our next lesson we will be finishing of the team meeting, costumes,props, make-up etc. sheet so we could be fully organised to what the shooting should look like.
